Ithaca CocoaHeads Now Forming
I’m organizing an Ithaca, NY chapter of CocoaHeads to connect up with other area Mac OS X and future iPhone developers.
CocoaHeads, the International Cocoa Club, is a group that meets monthly to discuss Apple’s Cocoa frameworks for programming Mac OS X.
With the new iPhone & iTouch due out a couple of weeks, it’s a great time to be a Cocoa developer, or to be getting your feet wet. A CocoaHeads group can be a great place to learn some new tricks and have some fun, too, geeking out with fellow Mac developers.
Where?
I’ll find a suitable meeting location after getting a better sense of how big a room we’ll need. Any suggestions for locations are definitely welcome.
When?
I’m shooting for an inaugural meeting in the last couple weeks of July, after the scheduled iPhone 3G release. An exact date will be determined by consensus of the interested CocoaHeads.
The conventional CocoaHeads meeting time is the second Thursday of the month from 7-9 PM. We would try to adopt that schedule after the inaugural meeting.
Me, Too
Every time I see an announcement for an upcoming CocoaHeads meeting on the Apple cocoa-dev list, it makes me pine for one in Ithaca. If you feel that way too, let me know and we’ll get a local chapter going.
Send me an e-mail at 1billgarrison@gmail.com or post a comment below.
Thanks, I’m looking forward to going to my first Ithaca CocoaHeads meeting!
